Thankful for my son Daaron. It seems like only yesterday you were playing football with matchbox cars. Now we are doing college football recruiting visits.

Over the years this road has helped bring my family and I home too many times to count. Whether it was school, sporting events, shopping, or work. This road was part of the way home. The road also helped carry food to feed my family many times as well. Not once have I ever been thankful for this random side street that has become my path home. This road is just one of the many things we take for granted each day. Another example of God’s common grace He provides to us but we take for granted. It is never too late to stop to appreciate something you have and to give thanks to the one who created everything.
“For every house has a builder, but the one who built everything is God.”
Hebrews 3:4

Today I am beyond thankful for my wife Tyleia. There are too many things to say in such a short post. It is only by God’s Grace I have such a blessing in my life. Today as she dealt with her own health issues she was also taking care of Jhene who is on the tail end of being sick and helped me to stay in our bedroom as I started to get sick.
Disclaimer: I opted to go with an existing photo instead of taking one today.
“Who can find a virtuous and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies. Her husband can trust her, and she will greatly enrich his life. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.”
Proverbs 31:10-12

Today I am thankful for God’s word and God helping me to understand it.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”
2 Timothy 3:16-17

Today I am thankful for bird feeders. I started watching birds as a way to slow down, focus on the present moment, reflect on God’s creation and meditate on God’s word. Each time I look at my feeders this is what happens; I focus on the Him and the present moment. Today was a tough day for our family so the new feeder I got for Christmas was a blessing. It kept reminding me to trust Jesus and don’t worry about tomorrow.
““Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?”
Matthew 6:26-27

Thankful for heat on one of the coldest days of the winter so far.
“And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my God will supply all your needs.”
Philippians 4:19

Thankful for the promise in Revelation 21:4 as 2025 has already brought our family one trip to the ER, one fever (picture reflects this) and starting cancer treatment in a few days
“He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain. The old things have disappeared.”” Revelation 21:4
